WELCOME TO ICIDN - 2020

Namaste and warm welcome to ICIDN-2020,

The Nepalese Forum for Medical Microbiology (NFMM) and Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI) is pleased to announce the "3rd International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine-2020" (abbreviated as ICIDN-2020) from December 15-18, 2020 in Kathmandu, NEPAL. Each of the first (2012) and second (2015) editions of ICIDN, both events held at Kathmandu, were successful in bringing together over 200 participants from more than 20 countries across the globe. ICIDN-2020 has the motto: "Interdisciplinary Collaborative Education for Research and Innovation in Biomedical Sciences". The primary objective of this meeting is to provide an unique global platform for presentation and rigorous discussion on recent trends, challenges and solutions path in various aspects of infectious diseases and nanomedicine. It equally aims at strengthening intensive scientific ties and network of biomedical scientists from Asian region to the rest of the world in support of systematic understanding of infectious diseases and applications of nanomedicine to disease for the benefit of humankind.

ICIDN-2020 will particularly focus on the "Conventional molecular microbiology, cutting-edge microbiomics (other omics), and potential applications of nanotechnology in infectious disease diagnosis and treatment". This in turn will provide the unique opportunity for presentation and sharing of innovations in the related field of biomedical and natural sciences. As with our previous editions, emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, drug design and drug delivery will form an integral part of the ICIDN-2020. A pre-conference workshop targeted to newcomers and students will also be arranged on the related topics. The ICIDN-2020 and accompanying workshop are hoped to be a milestone in our mission to promote interdisciplinary education and researches in the field of microbiology, material sciences and nanotechnology in Nepal and beyond.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we extend our warm invitation to all researchers, students, faculties, healthcare professionals, policy makers, and members from industry to attend and contribute to ICIDN-2020. The conference is expected to provide both the forum for exchange of innovative ideas/collaborations and foster cultural exchanges. Please plan to join us at ICIDN-2020 and enjoy the cultural hetitage of Kathmandu and natural beauty of Nepal.

We eagerly look forward to welcoming you all in Kathmandu in 2020.

Sincerely,
Santosh Thapa, PhD
